... and still missed.

TEH Song, of course !

A few people know that but George Harrison was the very first musician to organize a benefit concert. It was for the Bangla Desh in 1971, he invited his artist friends on scene, and it was quite a big success and generated a lot of money for George Harrison Unicef Fundation. Alas, the crisis continues... But Unicef is still here too !
The Quiet Beatle, despite his legendary shyness, managed to be under the lights for what he has been so touched.

God Bless you, George ! If ever you are currently reincarnated, I hope you're OK with your new life ! ;)
Pliz, keep an eye on this poor World.

Ma folie
I just bought the Box-set of all 14 remastered albums of my DEFINITLY most fave group (yep ! In front of the Beatles !) + 'The Dark Side Of The Moon' Box... a real extravagance, I won't tell you how much I spent for all this, but we have a single life, right ?! ;)
Now, I'm waiting impatiently the realisation of their following boxes, especially "The Wall" Special Edition !!! Ho là lààà !!!!

My entire afternoon spent (And is still currently spending) by listening and re-decovering lots of gems... And of course, I can't help but share with you some famous pieces of art...(at least, the most famous, even if I have a BIG PREFERENCE for the studio and never-heard session pieces)
Hope you'll enjoy !

Brain Damage & Eclipse (my 2 fave ones)
I can't resist to these lyrics...
All that you touch and all that you see
all that you taste, all you feel
and all that you love and all that you hate
all you distrust, all you save
and all that you give and all that you deal
and all that you buy, beg, borrow or steal
and all you create and all you destroy
and all that you do and all that you say
and all that you eat and everyone you meet
and all that you slight and everyone you fight
and all that is now and all that is gone
and all that's to come and everything under the sun is in tune
but the sun is eclipsed by the moon

Time

And of course...
Money

A very special thought for [info]verlaine101 and a certain Kenneth M. who, I do know, are great fans of Pink Floyd ! ;)

WAOW !

Yesterday evening, I went to Paris with my dear brother, to (finally) see one of my teen' fave singer from my definitly fave group.
I mean Roger Waters from Pink Floyd !!!!!!
I already saw the Pink Floyd twice, around 20 years ago, when they were only 3, without Waters. I really enjoyed their gigs, indeed... But that's what NOTHING compared to what we lived yesterday !

Roger Waters, despite his nearly 7O's gave us a WONDERFUL and PERFECT show, from the beginning until the end ("The Trial", even if it's not my fave song of the album was an absolute brilliant performance !)
The lights and films on the building wall were just several huge slaps and good vibes !
I swear it, I had goosebump and tears in my eyes many times !!

I lived a giant and historical event, I tell you ! WAOW, just WAOW !!!!!!!!
Even when I was a kid, Roger Waters has always been my fave member of this legendary group. Maybe I already had a certain taste for older men, with long and thin limbs, hooded eyes, big nose and long teeth ! XD
So, to have seen him on stage, with THIS concert I soooooooo wanted to see was an unforgottable experience !!!

2011 is really a year FULL OF GREAT EVENTS for me ! ;)

"Every gun that is made,
Every warship launched,
Every rocket fired,
Signifies
In the final sense,
A THEFT
From those who hunger
And are not fed
Those who are cold
And not clothed."

Dwight D. Eisenhower

PS : Special thoughts for NJ-Kenneth ;)
And also for [info]verlaine101 !

Amazing. Beautiful. Moving. Magic... I don't know what word to choose to describe this vid.
No need any words. Talent and poetry don't have any frontiers.

I dare you not to have a single tear while watching it !

Kseniya Simonova is an Ukrainian artist who won Ukraine's Got Talent 2009. She uses a giant light box, dramatic music, imagination and "sand painting" skills to interpret Germany's invasion and occupation of Ukraine during WWII.

An another note, my PC is out of order, once again.
All my programs, files and folders have disappeared... OMG !
A technician will take my PC monday morning, cross your fingers, pliz, to let me find again all my Geoffrey-material !
I saved the majority of it on my external hard-drive, but not the last vids neither the last pics. :(
I'm currently on my laptop, at work ! ;)

What strange creature than human being...
While most of them desperatly try to save the humanity from disasters, some others wildly and meanly want to destroy the rest of them...
Without wanting to preach (some of you know I'm quite atheist), neither to take any political positions, I just want to share with you, briefly but genuinly, my deep thoughts about what I lastly lived... and currently do, see via medias from the world we live on... (by TV, radio... or by internet)

Photobucket

This following vid is just here because I have some special feelings about it.
Please don't see ANY political or personal meanings.
I studied it for one of my exams, in high school... and it seemed quite appropriate to me for the current time we live...

Russians, Americans, Japanese, Australians, Germans, Argentinians, Africans, French,...
We ALL live on the same stone... And I do hope all these people love their children !

To quote one of the comments on YT :
"The message of the song is that we are all human beings.
We are all the same.
We shouldn't hate eachother.
We shouldn't kill eachother.
Peace."

One last quote, from a famous french writer I love :
"Man is the only species that can conceive the idea of its disappearance and the only idea that despair. What a strange race, if bent on destroying itself and so desperate to keep."
Robert Merle - "Malevil"

Where... and HOW are you, [info]verlaine101 ?!...
I'm really anxious about one of my dearest LJ friend, [info]verlaine101, a great lady who lives in my native land, Le Var...
Since yesterday, there are some very serious and terrible floods. TERRIBLE !

EDIT

Sorry, the video is in frend, but you can see, at the 0.26 a broken bridge, then, just after, an entire car park collapsed.
Then you can see some impressive landslides, and so, many houses will fall on their turn...
At the 01.45 : A little village called "Figanières" is the one which had the most important damages, but thanks God, NO victims.
You can see a real river, created by rain, bringing everything with it.
Then, at 01.49, you can see some palmtrees (in another town) falling into the raging waters and been carried along... To finally end with a view... where you have to guess where the floods end and where the Mediterranean Sea begins...

My native country is a strange area... Water is a very rare material...
In summer, there are some awful forests fires, Le var is a quite dry area of France, though the first tourists destination.

But sometimes, rain, when it comes, can be really distroying !
It can fall, in 24 hours, 6 months of rain. So, imagine the damages it can cause !
And it rained A LOT, since yesterday !!!!
Some villages are litterally cut off the world, roads broken, some houses have been completly destroyed, swept along with waters, there is no more electricity, no more drinking water, for isolated villages... and even for bigger cities...
There have been more than 3.50 meters (around 11.48 feet) of water in some places... there are 19 dead people and 3 missing... at least...

My family who lives near the sea is OK... but what about the inhabitants of the North of the department ?!...

OMG ! Verlaine, please ! I know you're probably fighting against more serious problems, but please ! Let us know you're safe!
I REALLY hope you're alright, and that you managed to come back home safely ! Your dear Sherpa, Neytiri, Lyvius, Patou... and also all your "wild" animals in your garden are just waiting for you !!!!... as we do ! ♥
I don't exactly know where you live, but if ever you can send us a sign, please, DO IT !!!!!

I just discovered these pics... and just couldn't resist to share them with you.
First, because I'm a huge lover of Nature, of these amazing, brave and beautiful Barnacle Geese, because our Planet needs more this kind of events, which prooves that human being can be still wondered, touched and melting by simple things, and also because I'm in a HUGE lack of this fabulous State : New Jersey !!!!
Renee !! Do you recognize the shops ?! ;)
Were you over here this day ?!

This lovely little family have been seen this 25th May, near The Holland Tunnel Entrance, NJ.
I particularly love the way the first parent (probably the male) is proud (but most probably aware and careful) of his family, and the way the last geese, certainly the female, is protective...
